E18 Knapstad-Retvet, Norwegen
Short description
Tendons for a section of the E18 between Knapstad and Retvet
The project
In autumn 2014 NCC was commissioned by Statens Vegvesen to rebuild an approx. 6 km long section of the E18 between Knapstad and Retvet, approx. 50 km southeast of Oslo.
The project contains 3 prestressed concrete bridges that were prestressed with the internal strand tensioning method of BBV Systems:
- the approx. 62 m long Skaug Bru with BBV L19 tendons
- the approx. 290 m long Hobolelva Bru with tendons BBV L27 and
- the Holt Bru, consisting of 2 superstructures with a length of 155 m and 195 m, both prestressed with BBV L19.
A proposal for optimization by BBV Systems with regard to the tendon guide, which NCC had submitted to Statens Vegvesen, was accepted and led to significant savings on the part of the client.
The first tendons were post-tensioned in mid-2015, and the BBV's work was completed in 2016.
With this project, BBV intensified its activities on the Norwegian infrastructure market.
