NEG Museumsinsel

Short description

For the construction pit and foundation of the new entrance building, the James-Simon-Galerie, BBV Systems was commissioned with the production and delivery of approx. 16,000 m of BBV injection piles.

The project

The Berlin Museum Island is one of the most important museum complexes in the world. As a globally unique architectural and cultural ensemble, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.

This world cultural heritage has been renovated since 2001. The individual museums are to be structurally combined to form a joint museum complex.

For the construction pit and foundation of the new entrance building, the James-Simon-Galerie, BBV Systems was commissioned with the production and delivery of approx. 16,000 m of BBV injection piles.

The BBV injection piles with simple and additional corrosion protection mainly secure an underwater concrete base against uplift and, in the final state, serve as the foundation of the building.
