At the Airolo wind farm, 5 E-92 wind turbines with a hub height of 98 m were installed on the St. Gotthard Pass in Switzerland.
The project
The location of the construction site at over 2,100 meters above sea level only allowed construction work in a few months per year. After the tower foundations were completed in summer 2019, the towers were erected in summer 2020. Immediately afterwards, BBV Systems delivered the prefabricated tendons for the 5 towers over the St. Gotthard Pass to the construction site and successfully completed the prestressing and injection work in July and August 2020.
